Thinking about replacing? Think again!
Many shops, especially those that profit more from replacements than repairs, often recommend replacement even when damage is completely repairable. This is wasteful, and can even be less safe!
- Aftermarket replacement glass is not guaranteed to have the same quality as the original.
- It's very difficult to perfectly replace the factory seal by hand, especially for a lone mobile technician.
- Even if an imperfect replacement doesn't allow water to leak inside, it can still reduce the strength of your whole frame during a collision or rollover, and even make airbags less effective!
- Your old windshield most likely goes to a landfill, as laminated glass is difficult to recycle. The best way to reduce/reuse/recycle is to repair!
